  • -Why do I need ActiveScreenLock?
-When you leave your workplace, your computer is left unprotected too. Anyone can access it, read you documents and copy or delete them. ActiveScreenLock gives you a secure and reliable way to protect your computer from unauthorized access.

  • -I have lost my registration code. What should I do now?
-If for any reason your registration code becomes invalid or lost, just drop us a note at support@dmvsoft.com together with the details of your previous registration.

  • -Where can I find this program adapted to other languages?
-You can translate ActiveScreenLock to your native language yourself. Copy from ActiveScreenLock directory file english.ini to some other place. Then open it for editing (for example, in notepad) and in the copied file change lines after "=" from English to your language. After you've changed all the lines, save this file and rename to your_language.ini where "your_language" is the name of your language (for example, "german.ini). Copy it back to the program directory and launch ActiveScreenLock. Change the language in the "Configuration" menu from English to yours and that's all.
If you send this language file with translation to your native language, we can give you a free registration.

  • -How long does the license for using the software last?
-The license is not limited in time. The new versions of the software can be freely obtained at our web site.

  • -What limitations does the unregistered version have?
-Unregistered version is a time-limited trial version. You can use it for 30 days; after expiration you have to register ActiveScreenLock. You can also register the software before your trial period is over - the nag screen will be removed and stop bothering you.

  • -Can I install the new version of the program over an old one?
    -Of course, you can.

  • -I can't read ActiveScreenLock help file. What should I do?
-You can read the help file online from our web site
(http://www.dmvsoft.com/online_help/ol_help.htm). You can also download html help here (aslhelp.zip) to read it offline.

  • -I read the Help File - but I still can't figure out how to have this program auto lock the screen when the computer is idle.
-Open settings for ActiveScreenLock and check "Show tray icon" and "Lock automatically after", and adjust timeout interval.

  • -I have set ActiveScreenLock to lock the screen after Windows boots up. I noticed there is a teaser box to register the product. While this box is up, it is possible to ignore it and thus it defeats the purpose of the screen being locked at start up. Will I see this box after registration?
    -No, registration removes this box.
